I have never met a rich pessimist.
Perhaps they are like crabs, doing some garbage collection, but they rarely drive progress for humanity. So, it was with some delight that I got an email from Forbes this morning saying their analytical engine deemed me the #63 "greatest living optimist". 😋

Forbes: “Optimism is at the heart of the American dream. For generations, citizens of this nation have pursued their happiness wherever they could find it, overcoming obstacles to arrive at their hard-won, long-term goals. As Thomas Jefferson once wrote in a letter to John Adams, ‘I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.’

In that spirit—and in honor of the 250th birthday of the United States—Forbes is recognizing the country’s 250 Greatest Living Optimists. Viewed through the lens of our celebration of entrepreneurial capitalism, these are founders who took a big risk on new possibilities, investors who prioritize long-term value over short-term gain, market-minded philanthropists and educational pioneers.”
