USCF psychiatry Prof Ashley Mason at BrainMind 2023: Depression correlates strongly with higher core temperatures and lower circadian amplitudes, from a DOD study of 21,000 people wearing the Oura ring. Exercise and sweat helps, even from a sauna (her current study). Another correlation: 25% of SSRI patients complain about excess sweating.
Hypothesis: Thermal disregulation may come from the removal of thermal stress from our lives. We did not evolve to live in temperature-controlled environments.
