This whole stone is potentially a CT3 as it is a pristine member of the proposed CT Group. Here is the proposal to form a new CT Group and discussion.
It is also the most friable stone I have ever held, crumbling with the slightest touch, but sporting a pristine cracked fusion crust.
The MetBull describes NWA 14139 as a cluster of “fine grained, friable black stones” containing “very small, glass-bearing chondrules (apparent diameter 270±130 µm, N = 20), mineral fragments and AOA set in an ultra fine-grained matrix (~50 vol.%, opaque in thin section) containing iron sulfide, pentlandite, low-Ti chromite and minor secondary calcite. No CAI were observed. The powder X-ray diffraction profile is dominated by intense reflections for olivine (dominated by magnesian compositions), clinoenstatite, pyrrhotite, pentlandite and calcite.”
76g, 2021 find.
To get a close look at this patch, I broke out the DSLR + 100mm Macro Zoom.
