Where best to invest to help the climate?
Summary of the recent BCG study: “Investments in plant-based alternatives to meat lead to far greater cuts in climate-heating emissions than other green investments. For each dollar, investment in improving and scaling up the production of meat and dairy alternatives resulted in 3x more greenhouse gas reductions compared with investment in green cement technology, 7x more than green buildings and 11x more than zero-emission cars. We call it the untapped climate opportunity – you’re getting more impact from your investment in alternative proteins than in any other sector of the economy. Another consultancy, AT Kearney, predicted that that most of the meat products people eat in 2040 will not come from slaughtered animals.” — https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/jul/07/plant-based-meat-by-far-the-best-climate-investment-report-finds
