I just stumbled across my old Xmas party photos from 2007, the first year of the iPhone.

At the time, I used to carry a pocket camera and blackberry with me everywhere I went, uploading here to flickr.

Another memory: I emailed Jobs from the beach of his his favorite resort, Kona Village, in 2004. It is famous for having no phones (in the land line sense). He wrote back immediately asking how that was possible. I explained the blackberry.

  2. Simply marvelous! We’re still here after all these years 🙂 Merry Xmas to you and yours!

  3. Great photo. Good holiday energy. ps: MSFT f’d up massively not buying blackberry…that thing was an "outlook appliance" and it would still be doing a boomin’ business if they had coupled it to outlook (pushing hard on hw/sw co-ev), kept the great keyboard (the large ~2002/3 version that worked great for large/adult thumbs – i could type ~50wpm+ on that thing and still hate the apple virtual keyboard!) and added large screen/cams/apps as those evolved (close following apple).

  4. Buttons forever! I am with u on the keyboard. But I am getting better on glass. Oh

  5. For more memories of my childhood hero, I wrote a eulogy for BusinessWeek: flic.kr/p/atvnG7
