Every wonder how you draw the blinds on a circular window? The iris is like that in a camera lens, and evocative of James Bond, spying on the U.S. from orbit. Photos in use, below.

The thumb-knob on the right holds the outer ring in place. When loose, the outer ring can rotate, moving the blades of the iris in or out. It is still fully functional, and unlike most of my Russian artifacts, very lightweight.
