I first met the Planet Lab team when they were launching Phone Sat tests in this same desert, back when they were still at NASA. Black Rock in the distance. Here’s the launch video.

It was a great flight, but I am still looking for the video camera I duct taped to the side 🙂 More photos below

    The Planet logo is an homage to the Planet Labs team, who I first met at this launch location when they were testing the Phonesat payload idea as a NASA/Google project: morePhoneSat testing
