from dreamers past.

Entrance to the ASU Dreamscape Learn VR classroom in development. The Marshall Mcluhanesque recreation of the classroom seemed the most compelling (more than the full-body location based entertainment that I have experienced several times now).

But, It was a red pill moment. To be honest, I have yet to find a VR experience that lasts more than 12 minutes, for good reason. Heat, weight and “brain strain” in the visual cortex just builds up. I know the headsets will be better one day, but they are not ready yet for any long-form experiences. But most of all, we need to crack the nut of 3D content creation (and it’s still creation, not capture, as with a camera). It still takes a lot of money and time. Like the early days of PIXAR, good story telling endogenous to the new medium might carry the day. But I have not seen it yet.
