noticed this on their home page. They are looking to protect life on Earth from the threat of asteroid strikes.

Here are my B612 posts over the years.

  1. Took my nephew (8th grade at the time, already taking pilot’s lessons) to Ed Lu’s B612 talk at The Interval last March. He got to chat with Ed before the talk, and, needless to say, he now thinks it’s perfectly normal to hang out with super-hero astronauts who work on saving the planet from asteroid strikes 😉

  2. ps: seems we need an international effort around deploying "the Hubble" of Space-based radar telescopes (maybe an array of two or three of them to permit mass bistatic interferometry. Must properly define the complete dynamic topology of the asteroid belts with resolution high enough to predict dangerous orbits ~10+ years in advance to permit nudge interventions. Arecibo (now out of commission) and Goldstone/GSSR are at least an order of magnitude below the resolution & wide field capability required.
