A little Saturday morning romp on our new fund, investment themes — e.g., human longevity and phage vaccines, meat manufacturing without slaughter, mind-reading pigs, better COVID testing and artificial human lymph nodes) and some unfettered rants on the so-called SV tech exodus and SPAC scams.

It starts at minute 5:45 here. Enjoy.

One response to “Space, SPACs, and the Great Tech Exodus”

  1. Re: the small sat launch market, there are already 150 companies to beat, many heavily overfunded just like them… to win a micro-niche of a market. These new entrants are forecasting that they will enter the market at a 10-50x cost *disadvantage* to today’s prices. 99% of small sats will be part of large constellations (Starlink, Planet) and best launched en masse. I do see how a couple of them could address a rapid-launch niche for prototyping, constellation maintenance, and warfighting (deploying replacement satellites on short notice) where the customer would sacrifice cost for speed.
