in the SpaceX hangar at Cape Canaveral. This is the historic B1058 booster that took the last 2 astronauts up, on the DM-2 mission (we were also at the Cape to see that flight back in May). Grid fin mount above our heads

It has already flown again and is being prepped for another flight to bring a second cargo Dragon to the ISS party in December. For its next trip to space, it might be carrying a small signature of mine in the smudge 🙂

This is the SpaceX hanger for booster checkout and integration that feeds Pad 39A. There are two other boosters there, getting ready for their 7th flights.

  1. Even better, B1058 has already flown two more times and is scheduled to launch the first upgraded Cargo Dragon for NASA on its fourth flight just ~2 weeks from now 😀

  2. Yes, and then there will be two Dragons perched on the ISS for the first time. P.S. we just got the custom display base built for the flown SpaceX DM-2 logo panel: Flown SpaceX DM-2 Dragon Delta Panel from the First Crew Mission

  3. Oh, and my cuffs are hilarious. They portray a studio faking the moon landings! Seemed appropriate for America’s return to human space flight.
