Here are some of my photo memories from last time. When I mentioned my interest in in EVs and clean energy, he brightly replied: “Well, then you are going to love what we are going to do!”

Biden ended the lunch reciting the poetry of Seamus Heaney with palpable delight:

“Hope for a great sea-change
on the far side of revenge.
Believe that a further shore
is reachable from here.

Once in a lifetime
the longed-for tidal wave
of justice can rise up
and hope and history rhyme.”

    Steve, I’ve browsed around the interweb looking for an explanation regarding the meaning of the two lapel pins he’s wearing above but have been unable to find any. The American flag appears to have a blob (rosette?) on it and I’ve no idea on the lower one. Do you, or anyone else reading this, know the answer?

    Now that the AP has declared Biden the winner, let me share another prescient Biden quote from our lunch: “America’s image in the world will be restored… The new President will face more challenges than FDR. Without a scintilla of hyperbole, I swear this is the most important election you have voted in ever, ever, ever. This administration will be tested, like JFK when he was elected. But we have an opportunity to unite the nation.”
