NASA just announced the novel discovery of water on the sunlit surface of the Moon using the SOFIA infrared telescope mounted on a jumbo jet. Water is an essential resource for a sustainable lunar presence, and we have only recently discovered ice at the poles, and now, in broad daylight too.
