Gene Cernan flying back, visible in the window, and using that Apollo 17 arm rest… returning from the moon to dock with the Command Module for the ride home. So incredibly cool. A digitally enhanced and reprocessed photo recently released by NASA.

    and amazing to me, as I look to my bookshelf at work… he was using this armrest at the time Largest part of an Apollo Lunar Module spacecraft, brought back by Commander Gene Cernan, last man on the moon and you get a clear view of the R4D engines, like the one on the right here Apollo Rocket Engines: SE-6, SE-8 and R-4D
