Cosmonaut Alexei Leonov died today.
In 1965, he was the first to walk in space, and famously had to vent his ballooned spacesuit to fit back through the hatch. In 1975, he led the Soviet side of the in-space hookup of Apollo and Soyuz capsules. He would have flown to the moon, but the Soviets cancelled their program.
