Nike Smokin’ Over the Black Rock Desert

My son and I have been launching this carbon fiber + fiberglass Nike Smoke rocket for over a decade now. Early on, we flew one of his milk jugs as payload. This year it was a pirate flag flapping below the parachute. This flight was special because the downward-facing video camera caught the BALLS flight line on the way up, and an M-motor rocket screaming up past us on the way down.

We went to 11K ft. and peaked at just over Mach 1.1
