Iceland — Oh, how I love this country, let me count the ways:
• Real coffee everywhere (not espresso),
• Apollo astronaut testing grounds,
• Game of Thrones filming site for the Wildlings,
• Credit cards accepted everywhere and no tips,
• Funky horses with a unique gait,
• Free tap water is better than bottled water, so free of plastic,
• Banning fossil fuel cars by 2030
• First country to recognize Estonia’s independence,
• Iceland’s L. Erikson discovered North America in 999, long before Columbus. My son was born on the 1000-year anniversary.
We added an impromptu stopover last weekend and sampled the beauty of the icy lands.
