
The real Doug is in the back room with headgear that reads his facial gestures to drive his avatar (on screen and my VR rig). He has trained to overcome the 1/6 second delay, and with a few spins of Moore’s Law, it will be even closer to real time.
I returned the favor and got up close to his face and inspected his facial pores and eyelashes.
This could allow for VR videoconferencing, using the digital double to render the face of each participant (removing the VR rig that obscures the face from any simple camera view)
The system creates a digital representation of him in real time…in incredible detail
