Erik’s new rocket, the first in 6 years! All fiberglass. 15 lbs. I happened to have the perfect gold midsection to lengthen her and make more room for a proper parachute. She had two great flights.

Launch videos and flight two below…

One response to “Erik’s New Rocket at October Skies”

  1. Erik’s Big Bee, flight two, on a Cesaroni Aerospace K590. A beautiful clean burning propellant, with shock diamonds visible in the plume But then it spiraled out of control. This is often a sign of a fin ripping off from supersonic stresses… but as I zoomed in the photos… It was engine-burn through the sidewall… two flames: a bit of cursive skywriting overheadand we found it… with my RF-tracking beacon this time The corkscrew problem… The K590 dual-thrust motor burned through the sidewall of its aluminum motor casing, and right through the aluminum boat-tail. The temperatures cut through that metal like butter.
