U.S. commercial market share was 100% in 1980, but dropped to 0% as the U.S. suppliers consolidated into a monopoly. No commercial satellite company — in the U.S. or anywhere — chose a U.S. rocket for launch. The U.S. did not have a competitive offering for any customer.

Compare to today, and SpaceX leads the great revival.
