Dustin creates massive glass sculptures with many layers of decorated sheet glass, that assemble together to create fanciful 3D worlds within. One of the tricky parts is a good epoxy that has the same refractive index as the glass. It is best seen in-person or in a video, to see the depth.

Here you can get a peek into his forthcoming work… with rockets and totem antennae and 3D “sketches” in the foreground.

  1. Studies of the totem antennae and in the back left, a library of National Geographic magazines and other good sources for cutouts.

    The production process… each of these layers gets moved many times to make sure the art on each aligns with the layer below:100 of this series of 120 have been done. Each is unique. Even the material used in a study is unique; separate cutouts will be used in final versions: And here is a cool view of these guys at his Lincoln Center installation.
