Oh it’s a happy new year… I unpacked the new arrival and stacked the major components to get a sense of the size of this beast… the largest rocket build I have ever attempted.

I am still planning the inner details for the flight computer and video bay, CO2 system for parachute deployment, and some modifications to have it launch on a cluster of four motors — a central 98mm M1340 surrounded by three L1000s (so we can fly it in California, where each individual motor is limited to an impulse in the M class, but you can bundle several motors in one flight).

I am also delighted that Aerotech has recently released single-use L and M motors, so I don’t have to buy and build four separate aluminum motor casings.
