Of the space artifacts, the Estonian ambassador and President had the keenest interest the Apollo 11 Goodwill disc — a 2″ silicon wafer decorated with miniaturized letters from most of the world leaders, as left on the moon by Buzz Aldrin (I have the prototype build diagonally above my right shoulder here). The U.S. did not recognize the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1969, and so the Estonian consul was allowed to submit a letter on behalf of the country. It resides on the moon, on the same disc as letters from Queen Elizabeth II, Indira Gandhi, Haile Selassie and the Pope.
