The missionaries led with the pitch that Mormonism, uniquely among all religions, offers eternal marriage, so you can remain married in the afterlife.
I had to ask, and four missionaries have now confirmed to me, that if you are eternally married in the temple, and your wife dies, then then the males can remarry. And what of the eternal marriage carrying to the afterlife? Yes, that remains too. So, it’s a corner case, but polygamy can carry on in the afterlife.
