Showing Apple employee #8, Chris Espinoza, some of my early Apple artifacts.
He remembers manually copying the Star Wars cassettes. He had a rig that fed eight recoding tape drives from one master, and he would manually copy eight tapes at a time as orders came in.

He said he could also recognize any of the Apple software that was recorded digitally on audio cassette, by listening to the data played over a conventional stereo amp.

He joined Apple in 1976, at age 14, when it was still housed in Steve Jobs’ parents’ garage, writing software manuals and coding after school. He is the company’s longest-serving employee.
