“Who Owns the Future?”
Jaron Lanier was fascinating this morning at Techonomy14, disparaging bitcoin as a manifestation of Ayn Rand’s notion of gold: “Bitcoin is a plutocracy generating machine. It’s bad, bad bad. Bitcoin is retrograde and cruel ultimately.”
And to my question at the end:
“AI is a fantasy. The more interest someone has in AI, the less productive they are in programming. It’s like it sucks them into a toilet.”
