at the pad
Our beater rocket… It has survived a year drilled into the ground at Snow Ranch. My son is holding the RF-tracking system that proved essential to finding the rocket far away in the greens. Here are some of the prior versions of the rocket (the upper half keeps changing). 
You can see that the airframe is a little bent, leaden to the pitch-roll spiral 
The RF tracking beacon saved us. We could not see the rocket until we were 10 feet away from it
We flew her again that night with a long-burning I100 red motor, hoping to the the spiral in the sky… but she went into an under-powered lateral "lunar-module drift" that was pretty cool
