
Buzz Aldrin wrote a letter 20 years ago “to certify that the spacesuit glove… was worn on the Moon at Tranquility Base.”
These thin nylon ‘comfort’ gloves were issued to the astronauts to wear under their pressure gloves to prevent rubbing and chaffing while working in the lunar module. They also provided a bit of extra thermal protection, wicked away moisture, and made the donning of the gloves much easier. Glove measures 9” long, with stamped information near the wrist reading: “A7L-103056-DX07 L/N 035 Size SLNG 74897 ALDRIN.” Part of the DFJspace collection
