What a long strange trip it has been. I started doing photography as due diligence for a Flickr investment. With a syndicate offer for financing, we were the alternative to the Yahoo acquisition. 20 million views later, I am still posting almost daily… finding it much easier than text or video blogs as a variable-quality media that does not waste people’s time (the quality of text and video are not immediately apparent, unlike a photo). But flickr is at a bit of a crossroads, feeling the drum beat of “mobile/social/local” while trying to preserve the corpus of content and context and community of the past, something that has become quite valuable to me. So I hope they are good curators of the novel that I and others have written…
