Saw this phenomenon several times at this pad over the weekend. Where’s the rocket?

The rocket is flying perfectly on a CTI N3301 motor…. answer below…

  1. The next frame by Jacson Lubin… You can start to see a bit of the tail end…

    But then all of the fins rip off in a supersonic shred overhead…

    Maney and his scorched rocket remains… with all of the fins missing on the right side…

    (it’s hard to keep those on with a minimum-diameter airframe design)

    I saw a similar vertical fireball on the first day, experimenting with a hand-held 800mm zoom:

    And it popped out of there like a Phoenix from the flames…

  5. Agreed the photo shall include the Rocket. As phoenix from the flames, in supersonic speed, the Rocket appears!

  6. Manny’s Rocket actually had 3 Layers of Carbon Fiber T2T. Mach 3 didn’t care. It took them right off.
