I was surprised by the perspective afforded when holding the camera out of sight. Does it look odd to you? It’s a bit dark in the center, but the waterfall continues into that center pit…
The first thing a little odd is that it looks like you might be tall enough to play in the NBA (if you held the camera at eye level). It is also hard to judge the perspective because the object viewed is rather unconventional so there are no easy references, The visual mind seems very prosaic it needs to read objects instanly and this image is a bit poetic.
fascinating!!
the idea apparently was to have the water disappear.
perhaps the angles are designed with a certain view direction in mind
like those 3D chalk drawings.
This one had me baffled – in particular the nearer part of the "chevron" pointing to the viewer which appears from its reflection to be out of horizontal – and the specular reflections on the two bodies of water seemed out-of-whack or mis-matched somehow – then the first sub-photo on this page (below the main image) gave the game away and explained all [http://www.flickr.com/photos/jurvetson/9317965438/in/photostream/]
