Not quite the big Apple… just the mini…

50th floor of the IDS Center, which touts that it is “connected to the world’s largest network of climate-controlled pedestrian walkways.”

  2. There’s something about that architecture that makes the scene look like it was computer-modeled. Like, if a game or a movie needed to produce a "just good enough" cityscape of New York, it’d include all of the signature buildings and fill in the rest with variations on nine different building forms.

    Lovely perspective.

  3. the concert hall has nice architecture though

  4. @Andy Ihnatko The process is a sort of circling on itself, Oozlum fashion. The architects model with computers and the constructed result looks like a computer model… You can’t imagine Frank Lloyd Wright working like that.

  5. @Steve Jurvetson BTW and off thread from previous post: red squirrels are incredibly tasty, much better than wild rabbit or even hare and very, very low-fat. If they had them in France, you’d have to pay a lot to eat them cooked in wine with baby onions. Minnesota might be the perfect place to sample them… ask around.

  6. @Andy Ihnatko — that’s what they do in the Matrix… lots of copies… Some with fractal variation to appear appealing while still lowering rendering load.

@David Seaton — this reminds me of the photo I took of the Wuxi New District…
