There’s something about that architecture that makes the scene look like it was computer-modeled. Like, if a game or a movie needed to produce a "just good enough" cityscape of New York, it’d include all of the signature buildings and fill in the rest with variations on nine different building forms.
@Andy Ihnatko The process is a sort of circling on itself, Oozlum fashion. The architects model with computers and the constructed result looks like a computer model… You can’t imagine Frank Lloyd Wright working like that.
@Steve Jurvetson BTW and off thread from previous post: red squirrels are incredibly tasty, much better than wild rabbit or even hare and very, very low-fat. If they had them in France, you’d have to pay a lot to eat them cooked in wine with baby onions. Minnesota might be the perfect place to sample them… ask around.
@Andy Ihnatko — that’s what they do in the Matrix… lots of copies… Some with fractal variation to appear appealing while still lowering rendering load.
