   Here we are up in the foothills of Stanford, just after that huge dish tracked the Dove from horizon to horizonAnd inside the trailer below, the excitement is palpable…And here is the very first image they pulled from the other Dove (they had two different orbits going at the same time)I cropped down to a portion of the total frame. It is particularly interesting because the Google Earth image of the exact same place in Oregon is several months old, and quite a bit of deforestation took place in the interim.

   I got to drive up for a photo with the windmills for the final frontier… 🙂 moreAnd here is a sequence of photos about the company and the early days…

   Mike – heh. Skybox was like the minicomputer to the Planet iPhone. They eventually got acquired by Google, who spent another ~$billion developing it.. and ultimately, spun it out and gave it to Planet!
