   It’s so hard to look at ducks and remind yourself "They don’t think about their young the same way human parents do; I’m interpreting their behavior in human terms, not duck terms," isn’t it?

   true… the doting parents… I think they are actually rattling off in their head: duck, duck, duck, duck, goose!
