Mark Shaw does a bold on-stage demo of his extreme-hydrophobic nanotech coating. The poster board looks to be a plain white rectangle… and then… (see photo sequence below).

It reminds me of my first TED Talk… I also did a bold on-stage demo of nanotech-treated materials to repel liquids… but I was wearing the technology, and it did not go at all like I planned…

Mark’s TED Video just went online.

The pattern startes to reveal itself, but the "D" is a bit sticky… For most of the the remainder of his talk, the placard read "TE"

A standing ovation for a delayed drip!

And the unsung heroes of a messy demo… working in the shadows as the next speaker comes on stage

  2. Do you have photos of your demo? I am sure that would be interesting to see. These are nicely done.

  3. Thanks Steve for the photos of Rockets. I only used the smoke trails but could not have being able to do the job without it. I hope you wont mind the subject. http://www.flickr.com/photos/39581783@N08/8595781707/in/photostream
Next one I will concentrate on "PEACE AND LOVE".
