She looked so radiant and electric at night in the courtyard of the TED conference, with the neon backlit waterfall, that I had to try an extreme shot without tripod (100mm, f/2, ISO 6400).

I met so many Model S owners there. An Apple engineer noted my interest and gave me a Serbian bill with Tesla on it, from a roll of bills he had with him to hand out to Tesla fans.

  1. Serbian Money

I inserted it in my photo badge to masquerade as Nikola.

  2. most excellent! the photo came out very well.

i like that there are such people in our lives like that Apple engineer 🙂

  3. Looked at the original one (over 20 MB) At ISO 6400, yes very impressive. And I wonder what creates those tiny white like snowflake grains all over the photo? Why white ? Do you know? Beautiful car. I told my wife (Epp) that I would buy one exactly like this one …in twenty years.

  4. I suspect that is sensor noise from the high ISO. I just added a bit of noise reduction, but the snow is still there. Blame the cosmic rays…

  5. Yea I do see the effect and result of the noise reduction. Now you have to work on inventing a cosmic ray filter. Canon would love that.

  6. Saw Tesla in different colors on the roads every day.
N.T. – A genuine genius who gave things out free, died in debt and ended on a bank note.
Got mustache? Ben Affleck is getting closer to masquerade as Tesla, they also share a common passion, card-playing.

  7. At first I thought that after the NYT article that the Tesla was on its way to be the electric Edsel, but I now think I was wrong. This is definitely a cult… I suspect that this will finally make it successful: word of mouth among alpha-geeks looking for the ultimate in oneupsmanship. Running out of juice in the middle of the desert will be a prestige thing, an icebreaker at Silicon Valley cocktail parties sort of thing.

  8. Heh, it’s funny to find doubters like you still out there… And as a general pattern, it’s only among people that have not driven the car. Hopefully you will get a chance later in the year, or maybe next, and I think you’ll be amazed.
