I love those Estes candles – they must have been the original trick ones that relight after you try to blow them out… =)

And then came the TEDxJetBlue Birthday Serenade
My voice is hard to hear at first, but I said that I did not know if this was legal, and thanked the guy sitting in row 2B for being the first person to buy me a drink anonymously (the red wine in my hand). I had always seen it in movies, but alas, never had a drink sent my way.

When I sat down though, and shared that little detail, the lady sitting between me and my Dad said that she had received such offers before but always turned them down. Something about a social norm that you are expected to do something with the guy in return. I gulped — Doh!

  9. and Dragon is on it’s way to the ISS, with an anticipated arrival on Sunday morning (7am PST/ 10am EST). Here are some cool views from SpaceX and some screenshots I took from the NASA launch video:

A cool view of the underbelly of the Dragon spacecraft as seen from the second stage as it falls away. The solar panels are in a folded array under the external fairings on each side:

  10. I grabbed almost this exact control room frame from the video to send to the high-fiver on the right. I know him from SpaceUp.

  11. And I was thinking of you when we 3D printed a Saturn V boost stage this morning.

Meanwhile, SpaceX just tweeted "happy berth day!" 🙂 mobile.twitter.com/SpaceX/status/308252009952321537
