    serbian flag Go Nikola! =)

  4. Great use of data in the response to the NYT article. You can’t manage what you don’t measure.

  5. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/jurvetson] Still the New York Times is the New York Times… Massive circulation, massive prestige… black swan if ever there was one. How could this disaster have been avoided?

  6. Funny but how many gazoline cars this happens to them?!

  7. this disaster could have been avoided by not focussing on the range at all.
how often do most people drive from boston to new york or washington dc?
    it was an asinine idea!

the goal should have been to have 4-5 charging stations conveniently located with a sleek modern decor and serving coffee and cake to drivers while they waited and then splashed that in the new york times! duh!!

whoever came up with this idea has done Barclays and others shorting Tesla’s stock a huge favour!!!!
me being who i am would immediately wonder how much he/she got paid…….

  8. I wouldn’t say it’s a disaster, but an interesting peek into the transparent society. =)

Meanwhile, CNN has already recreated the 450 mile drive that flummoxed John Broder.

CNN went the long way, adding 30 miles to the route, had some unplanned extra miles when they missed an exit, yet, they still ended with 100 miles to spare!

    And along the way:

"as I drove into Connecticut, I realized something amazing. Not only did I have enough battery range left, I had plenty. I had at least 40 miles — more than an entire Chevy Volt’s worth of electricity — left to play with. I sped up, cruising over 70, riding in the left lane, mashing the gas pedal just to feel how fast the car could shoot from 65 to 80. I was practically giddy.

In the end, I made it — and it wasn’t that hard.

…the Model S provides a pretty amazing mix of smooth and silent performance along with brain-squishing acceleration. So even if you’re not driving from Washington to Boston, it’s an impressive car, all on its own.

As for the Supercharger network? Turns out that works, too."
