and then we settled down to receive a briefing from spaceport CEO Stu Witt, a test pilot on 157 different aircraft, including the B-1B, B-2, F-16C and F23. He caught our attention in the opening:
“The Mojave Air & Space Port grants permission. This is the one place you can get permission to kill yourself and your team.”
Without risk, there is no innovation. Failure has to be an option on the path to success (a message I first heard from James Cameron).
He also told us that the Mojave spec port hosted more rocket engine tests last year than the rest of the world combined.
