This is the original hatch made for the passage of cosmonauts from the living module to other modules of the Russian Mir space station. Russia built an identical Mir to the one in orbit that burned up on reentry. The second Mir was used to train every astronaut and cosmonaut that visited Mir.

A nice counterpoint to the Apollo LM prototype hatch in the background. I want to figure out a triptych alcove display with those two and the oldest one I have, the flown hatch from the first Voskhod (competing with the Gemini in the U.S.). More photos below.
