Cute, but I’d guess a company specializing in lifting things against gravity would have chosen the far simpler calories burned (work) = weight*height climbed * inefficiency factor, rather than this complicated cyclist-inspired empiricism containing a bunch of only vaguely related terms (included because of the air drag encountered during cycling, which is arguably not a significant term during stairclimbing).

    americans always struggle with SI Units, even those that claim to be scientists.

    and yes, scientists who do not think in SI Units cannot be trusted.

    236 years after independence and even though the US is one of the original 17 signatories to the Metre convention and 100 odd years after the Mendenhall Order, many americans still prefer British Imperial units.
