    [http://www.flickr.com/photos/48331433@N05] — yes, the hats are standard issue from the Ministry of Silly Walks. When you spend a couple days with no sun protection, you can get fried. Like my neck did yesterday while mountain biking with a helmet without a wide brim. Given the heat, we want light, soft and cool (as in temp, not chic).

    Just like my extra baggy shorts with plenty of pockets for tape, tools and cameras. =)

I have used them in extreme heat and they were wonderfully cool and also look cool, like Grace Kelly in Mogambo Mogambo
