Like my neck did yesterday while mountain biking with a helmet without a wide brim. Given the heat, we want light, soft and cool (as in temp, not chic).

Just like my extra baggy shorts with plenty of pockets for tape, tools and cameras. =) -
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/jurvetson] I’m glad you mentioned the "Ministry of Silly Walks", I nearly did in my comment. What ever happened to the traditional cork, pith helmet? I have used them in extreme heat and they were wonderfully cool and also look cool, like Grace Kelly in Mogambo
