This massive Q motor popped up through the NASSA rocket, leading a visual display of much mayhem… below.

  2. The (British) Queen bestows varioius honours/medals on her birthday, one of which is the OBE. When awarded to politicians, it frequently denotes "open both ends", when awarded to civilians it can mean "other bugger’s efforts". Looks like this rocket was more of the politician persuasion.

  3. From this perspective the cameraman right-center looks to be within a 100 yards or less from the launch site, i.e. too close. Hard to tell. Is Q the largest class motor?

  4. A nice composition effect I look for out there on the range. It comes from perspective compression when shooting with a 400mm zoom.

  5. Oh my. Well, … it is rocket science and such.

  6. Houston….we have a problem!

  7. Chris Klimczak got a photo of this NASSA rocket just before launch on the Tripoli Pittsburgh rail:

  8. Wow, great series of photos. I could easily enjoy rocketry. I love artillery, armor and launching bowling balls (all in the distant past). This looks to be a rather expensive hobby, it’s not like having the Army pay for it.
