As the end of the FAA launch waiver approached, and the sun began to set, we rushed to set up the launch rail and prepare my 12 ft.-tall rocket for her maiden launch.
We armed the electronics and confirmed GPS lock with two wireless base stations. Then came the public announcement to the flight line, and the inevitable butterflies during the countdown…
And then, a throaty roar into the sky and a cone of light… a delightful display to close the Saturday launches at BALLS.
