  1. How close did we come?

  2. sinking tax money into a pit leaving nothing for the iBot…..

  3. Nuclear missile? Your pictures always keep me wondering… You have unlimited energy to cover all these topics and places…

  4. That’s a hot weapon ready to fly? Your access continues to astound me.

  5. I take it back, I looked at the large picture – that thing has been sitting in the silo open for some time. Then I went to Google, Minuteman III is the only current land launched ICBM we use.

  6. I think 90% of US/UK nuclear capability is now submarine based (Trident)
    This somewhat complex Titan idea shows just how hair brained it all got, back in the cold war.
    Some of the earlier systems were even more bizarre;

    That is correct. There are three land bases that still exist, Minot AFB ND, Warren AFB, WY and Malmstrom AFB MT. All three have a total of 450 MMIII missiles I believe it is now.

    Comms bunkers are another category.
    Here is a bit of light reading if you get tired of the rosy scientific future. Checking in with this group in Chicago is always a good way to get a quick rundown on the latest apocalyptic doomsdays. They sure have grown alot over the years. We used to get to reset the cheesy doomsday display clock as required. Hey, make that 4:30 to doomsday? No, just 5:00. Dammit not 5:00 pm, ha ha very funny. http://www.thebulletin.org/content/doomsday-clock/overview
    I like how these USAF Buck Turgidson types go over this.
