This is the flame deflector below the pair of Gemini engines splitting the blast sideways to a pair of exhaust ducts, all deep underground in this Titan II ICBM missile silo.

  5. DID it really MATTER? During the COLD WAR it was USE ’em or LOSE ’em, once these missles launched the crews jobs were done, only thing left was to go home…oh ohhhhhhh, no home to go to because the SOVIETS ICBM’s of that era targeted the bases and it was all a matter of time till MAD took over……….
