    Recursive code for sure but I don’t think you have strict reentrancy satisfied in many very important instances like conception. Indeed, old fashioned conception provides textbook examples of highly thread unsafe sets of events across multiple higher execution domains including the stochastic. Something like the meiotic drive of cheap roadhouse whiskey gives you most of the population of Texas despite all scientific rationality. That means your attempts to understand things like Baptist religious belief and practices as simple viral memetics are lackinig vis-a-vis modern evolutionary genetic results. Not to be discouraged however as vast scientific explanatory power for things like twangy guitar and honky tonk piano music are now within the realms of molecular and evolutionary biology.

    It is the perceived assault on the rich cultural and genomic diversity of the Bible Belt that has the residents so upset about things like gay marriage. That includes everyone from such diverse representatives as the cracker mountain kid in Deliverance to Carrie’s Baptist college mom. So, what is up with the Bible Belt? Nothing out the ordinary really.

    [http://www.flickr.com/photos/jurvetson] Digressing out of the usual fun and games in the Bible Belt and back to science, these ribosome dynamics strike me as similar to a cpu with a normal clock cycle error rate and state space but with all kinds of twists similar to overclock performance, environmental limits, and more. Looking at some of the lit. they are modelling with similar kinds of stochastic / state space think for these molecular engines with very real analogies for things like thread safety, mutexs, and so forth. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17369422

    Clearly these genetic systems are getting the benefit of modelling and real physical interaction with things like state space methods. EE and compsci types should love this. All these new potentials. Like Eigen Yeast Bier, it brews the optimal uber Lager and processes images to catch habitually slow and incompetent drivers on the autobahn. Or the French equivalent the Croissant La’Placian that is optimally flaky, produces its own butter and has dough that chef’s laptop can connect with and code for that unique standard of taste perfection.
