Catching a glimpse of Snowy, his bride in heat.

It was an arranged marriage, and he was a bit anxious, but looking good in his tux with cat tails.

Snowy has been calling out for a husband every few weeks, with a plaintive warble. So in our first attempt at animal husbandry, we borrowed another purebred rag doll stud from a local breeder.

My young daughter was a bit perplexed: “You can rent a husband?!? Is that legal?”

So, she officiated a wedding ceremony, with rose petals, toy ring, and the good book. Keeper, the 20 lb spayed Maine Coon, was nonplussed to be the bridesmaid in a tutu. It was a bit like herding cats.

Then they had some quiet time for their honeymoon as newlyweds.

Snowy is now very affectionate, a positive sign for cupid in the cat house… »—♥♡—->

a happy tail and a happy tale for Valentine’s Day. =)

  2. happy V day from all cats:)

  3. Happy Valientine’s Day!

  4. Congratulations! It must have been a wonderful ceremony! Now imagine how they will celebrate valentine’s day next year. They will need a cat sitter while they dine by candlelight. A heart shaped cat paté in a single red dish perhaps.

What fun it must have been for all to plan this! It is like the typical parents who prepare everything whilst the bride and groom are nervously thinking about the first night. At least it will not be a lifetime commitment.

Let’s hope the children are all aware of the major difference. lol

Your daughter is very smart to react this way. That is a good reflex!

    Cute photos!

    Bonne Saint-Valentin!

  5. Oui, et bonne Saint-Valentin pour vous aussi.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/24270806@N06] – rent to own is a fine model.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/physicsman] – don’t be feeling my feline. Oh, or are you saying that you are feeling like the neutered lady in waiting?… 😉

  6. Haha! Great post. At least I know we are not the only "cat nuts" around!

  7. The groom looks like he should have been more realistic when getting his tux sized…

  8. Steve, I would never have pegged you to be -that- crazy of a cat lover. 😀

  9. heh, I’ve had enough cats to know they they will not suffer a cute outfit… or leash… but alas, some others like to play dress up.

  10. Wow! How did you ever get a couple of horny cats to stand for being dressed up like that?

  11. Bombalurina, Demeter, Griddlebone, Jellylorum, Jemima, Mr. Mistoffelees, Munkustrap, Victoria, etc. ?

  12. Some good names there….

So I was in a meeting with an executive who saw all this, and said, "you won’t believe our family pet, a dog named Dick":

    Dog named Dick

No joke, and no photoshop. He allowed me to post anonymously… I’m thinking, what a wiener dog!

  13. There are many families brought their dogs to watch an afternoon Cats, the musical. If Dick might have gone to the theatre, too, it will not be noticed in the theater light. And it might remember hearing Jemima sings the happier parts of Memory, and Grizabella sings the more sad parts.

  14. This is just too funny.

  15. reposting first comment, hidden now by a bad "upgrade" of the flickr service…. Snowy is the young bride, naturally dressed in white.
