Out at the far away pad, a couple teams needed a ladder to arm the avionics on rocket.

So I offered a rooftop for access. In this case, it was sticky rail button. (For another, it was the upper section of a beautiful two-stage rocket.)

  2. Good thing OSHA wasn’t watching!

  3. Ha! Now I have to relay a story: Back in 2010, my wife and I wandered over to Ames to see what LUNAR was all about. On our way out, you showed us your rockets, cameras, and an AeroTech catalog. I was hooked. 18 months later, I’m reluctantly perched on your Bimmer, flipping switches above an M2100. So, thanks again. (A similar photo is now making the rounds at work.)

From what I can tell, the inner circumference of the buttons was binding on the rail edges. There’s now a rounded groove cut in both sides of the delrin. I’ll sort it out with the HP coordinator, but I’m now putting "step-stool" on my checklist.

  4. I love that story! And I need to get a step stool too.

  5. And here is Casey’s flight video. On the left, you can see my winged Sledgehammer waiting in line to launch on a M1315.
