
A three hour cruise…
My daughter took the photo as I tried to turn us around for the ride back to the back left of the frame. We followed the shoreline and had just finished paddling into a mild headwind. So at this moment I thought we could coast back, finally with wind at our backs…
But the afternoon winds flipped direction and kicked up quite dramatically. We had to head back straight into the wind, as any tilt to the side resulted in a broadside sail effect spinning us away from our destination with a discouraging back paddle of sorts.
We finally made it back and were able to alert the boat dock to rescue the other windswept canoes.

The morning sky is so wildly polarized (this is a normal cam; I took some polarizing filter shots too, but they looked too surreal)
